Our Mission Statement
We wish to create a culture of learning, where children are happy, enthusiastic, motivated and ambitious and where every child has the opportunity to achieve their own potential.
We encourage mutual respect, support and collaboration between all children and adults, both within the school and the wider community.
We believe that it is important to provide a secure, caring and stimulating environment for all our children, thereby promoting a sense of pride in ourselves and our school.
This can be achieved most effectively when all staff, parents and children understand their responsibilities and work together towards the same goals, as detailed in our home/school agreement.
Our SMART charter
At Caroline Haslett School, our SMART charter underpins the ethos of our school. We encourage children to take responsibility for their actions and encourage them to make positive choices about their approach to work and how they behave. This is reinforced through frequent praise and a valued reward system of SMART spots. Children earn SMART spots for positive attitudes to learning, hard work, politeness, and caring for others. At Caroline Haslett, we are:
Sensitive We are kind, gentle and helpful to others.
We do not hurt people or their feelings.
Motivated We are hard workers who have a go.
We do not waste time or give up.
Attentive We are good listeners who concentrate.
We listen to instructions and do not interrupt.
Responsible We are careful with property and nature.
We do not damage or waste things.
Truthful We are honest.
We do not lie.
Children receive badges and certificates during our regular achievement assemblies.
They earn a bronze badge for 25 SMART spots; a silver badge for 50 SMART spots; and a gold badge for 75 SMART spots.
